NATIONAL PARKS IN Sri Lanka
Sri lanka is a tropical country Like some of the other tropical countries with a heavy rainfall, our which has a lot of rain and sunshine. country, too, has jungles, which cover a large area. Different kinds of animals, bird and reptiles live in them.
The elephant, the leopard, the bear, the wild boar, the deer and the monkey are some of the animals that live in jungles. The elephant, which is the largest animal on land, is muddy grey in colour and lives herds. Occasionally, we can see a solitary wild elephant which has broken away from the herd. Elephants can be seen our National Parks in Yala or Wilpattu. The elephant population is dwindling in Sri Lanka and they might soon be extinct.
